As far as we know, we don’t have any vampires working at DC (though it’s not something we screen for when interviewing prospects – we ARE an equal opportunity employer, after all!). But even if we don’t personally know any nosferatu, it’s pretty safe to assume that life as a vampire is tough. It certainly has been for Andrew Bennett. After a year of headlining DC COMICS – THE NEW 52’s I,Vampire, poor Andrew has gone through a very bad breakup, a vampire uprising, a run-in with Batman, a skirmish with an army of vampire-hunting zombies and, oh yes, death and rebirth. All of it has come courtesy of writer Joshua Hale Fialkov (helped in no small part by artist Andrea Sorrentino). In this Wednesday’s I,VAMPIRE #12, things for Andrew get even more complicated thanks to an appearance by Stormwatch, which promises to bring considerable change to the title. Fialkov discussed where I,Vampire has been and where it’s going yesterday with USA Today, which also previewed issue #12.

Of course, a new issue of I,Vampire is just one of the many goodies you can look for at your local comic shop this weekend. You’ll also want to snatch up the debut issue of BEFORE WATCHMEN: DR. MANHATTAN, the conclusion of “The War of Lords and Owls” in ALL-STAR WESTERN #12 and the first chapter of an exciting new Rogues-driven storyline in THE FLASH #12.
