Superman has some of the most famous and iconic poses in comics. But what about Clark Kent? He has an iconic pose as well.
Yes, perhaps it’s because they’re so important to maintaining his secret identity, but when most people think of Clark Kent, they think of the glasses and how he always seems to be taking them off in the most dramatic way possible. Well, starting today, we’re naming this recognizable pose after the man responsible—we’re calling it “Clark Kenting.” And we’re asking you to show us that you can Clark Kent with the best of them.
Here’s how it’ll work:
- Tweet us a picture of you pulling off your glasses in the most dramatic, Clark Kent-like way possible between now and 11:59 p.m. PST on Friday, June 21. Be sure to follow us and use the #clarkkenting hashtag to have your photo counted.
- After Friday, we’ll pick our three favorites and send the winners a free copy of the Man of Steel Soundtrack Deluxe Edition, ensuring that whenever they Clark Kent in the future, they’ll have the perfect music to accompany them.
That’s all there is to it. We’ll post the winning photos, along with some of the other great ones we receive, right here in the DC Comics Fan Blog next week.

The Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old as of the date of their entry. Employees of DC Entertainment and any of DC Entertainment’s affiliates, parents, subsidiary companies, or advertising and promotion agencies and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win the Contest. By submitting a picture, entrant warrants, represents and agrees that: (i) entrant is the person appearing in the picture; (ii) the reproduction, distribution and display of the picture does not violate the rights of any persons or entities; (iii) the entrant has the right to submit the picture to Sponsor; and (iv) Sponsor may reproduce and display the picture on DCComics.com and all DC Comics-operated Twitter and Facebook pages.
