You know when Wonder Woman’s involved, the truth is eventually going to get out there.

Tonight, during the Game Awards, Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment shared an early teaser at a previously unannounced new DC video game—Wonder Woman.

Monolith and Warner Bros. Interactive promise that Wonder Woman will be a single player open-world action-adventure game that will tell an original story set within the DC Universe. The game will allow players to become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family along with the humans from the modern world. Wonder Woman will by powered by Monolith’s Nemesis System, and gamers will forge deep connections with both enemies and allies as they progress from a heroic fighter into a proven leader.

Monolith has a pretty solid track record over the past decade and know their way around a popular franchise. In 2014, they released Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, a bestselling fantasy set in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasies that introduced the Nemesis System for which they’ve become known. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was critically acclaimed and was selected as Game of the Year by the Game Developers Choice Awards, GameSpot and Giant Bomb. It was followed by a 2017 sequel, Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Wonder Woman is the first game announced by Monolith since then.

While the notion of a Wonder Woman-focused video game is exciting and unprecedented, Diana of Themyscira has been a big part of broader DC games like Injustice: Gods of War, Injustice 2 and DC Universe Online. Also, while we don’t yet know when Wonder Woman might reach consoles, the next two years are shaping up to be big ones for DC games, with the previously announced Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on the horizon. (Speaking of Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady released a pretty sweet sneak peek of the gameplay at the Game Awards as well.)

For now, though, let’s all geek out loudly—like Amazons!—to the new teaser and speculate about what we’d love to see in a Wonder Woman game over in the DC Community. Hola!
