DC announced today that Diana: Princess of the Amazons, DC’s critically acclaimed middle grade graphic novel by New York Times bestselling co-authors Shannon Hale and Dean Hale and illustrated by Victoria Ying is headed back to press for a second printing.

The second printing news comes within two months of the graphic novel’s highly anticipated release, which was lauded and covered by the Washington Post, Bustle, Romper, Polygon, comicbook.com, LA Daily News, School Library Journal, The Salt Lake Tribune, and GeekDad, among many others. The book is a heartwarming tale about family and friendship, learning from mistakes, and finding inner confidence, and follows eleven-year-old Diana as she navigates the highs and lows of growing up as the only child on the entire island of Themyscira.

Receiving countless positive reviews from press, Kirkus Reviews called Diana: Princess of the Amazons, “A cute and brightly rendered bit of backstory for DC’s Amazon warrior,” while Publishers Weekly noted the book as a “smartly paced adventure.” ScreenRant also stated, “DC could not have picked a better team than Shannon and Dean Hale, along with artist Victoria Ying, to endear Wonder Woman to a whole new generation voraciously consuming graphic novels.”

Diana: Princess of the Amazons was featured as a Yahoo! “It List” Pick and was also selected by IndieBound’s prestigious Kids Next List for winter 2020. The story continues to be an Amazon bestseller and Diamond Comics Distributors named it one of the top 10 bestselling graphic novels in January alongside two other DC Books for Young Readers titles—Minh Lê and Andie Tong’s Green Lantern: Legacy and the graphic novel adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s smash hit Wonder Woman: Warbringer. With the second printing, there will be over 200,000 copies of Diana: Princess of the Amazons in circulation.
