Some people inherit hair color or freckles from their parents. Nia Nal inherited superpowers and a mantle that is passed down through her bloodline.

Nia is the daughter of a Naltorian woman and a human father, making her an alien-human hybrid. She was raised in a town called Parthas, a secret safe haven for extraterrestrials. Parthas was supposed to be a welcoming community, accepting of people from all throughout the universe. Yet, as a trans woman who was frequently bullied and typically misunderstood, that’s not what Nia experienced. Forced to leave to find herself, Nia eventually made new friends who accepted her for who she is—including fellow trans alien superhero, Galaxy. Since then, Nia recognizes the importance of being true to who you are and protecting the world’s most vulnerable.
 
Thanks to their Naltorian heritage, all of the women in Nia’s bloodline have precognitive powers. Nia’s precog abilities can be used whether she’s awake or not, but they’re more focused when she’s asleep. She can also harness Dream Energy, which Nia can use to enter the Dream Realm and create energy blasts. Her ability to enter and exit the Dream Realm at will is of particular significance, as it allows Nia to physically travel across the universe through other peoples’ dreams.

After her mother’s tragic death, Nia moved out of Parthas and became a costumed superhero known as Dreamer. However, life as a heroine hasn’t been easy for Nia, as villains and corrupt government officials have tried to take advantage of Dreamer’s unique abilities. So far, Nia has prevailed, and to date she’s one of the few individuals to truly get the better of Task Force X founder Amanda Waller. Still, Nia will need to stay true to herself and trust in her friends and allies to overcome the challenges ahead—which is sometimes more of a struggle for her than she’d care to admit.
