The battle to be crowned King Omega is underway! In “Come Out Writing,” we help you stay on top of all things DC K.O., offering our predictions on upcoming matchups and expert commentary on all the important fights.

It's the biggest event of the season—perhaps even bigger than Thanksgivingit is *drumroll please* DC K.O.! A massive no-holds-barred fight between the biggest and boldest DC characters to see who will be crowned King—or Queen—Omega! Whoever wins will stop Darkseid from ending it all, while shaping the world in their own image. And nobody can pull their punches. It’s no mercy. It’s no compassion.

As we’ve said before, all of us behind “Come Out Writing" have no idea what’s ahead. We’re as clueless about issue #2 as you are. We’re assuming these will be 1v1 battles, and fights to the death at that. *Cue dramatic music* But we don’t know. We could wind up being completely wrong. Assuming we’re not, though, here are my predictions on who’s going to win the four final round one matchups.

The Joker vs. Star Sapphire

This was not supposed to happen. Originally, it seemed like Batman would be the fighter facing Carol Ferris’ Star Sapphire. But as one of the most infamous villains in the DCU, the Joker doesn’t play by the rules, as we were reminded when he shockingly took out the Dark Knight at the end of DC K.O. #1. It just goes to show you that anything can happen in this high stakes death tournament.

The Joker is known for his brutality and his cleverness. He does not possess any superhuman abilities, which gives him a large disadvantage here—he isn’t physically strong, nor does he have any combat skills. He relies on weapons, his most powerful one being his Joker toxin. We see in issue #1 that Joker is packing an arsenal of weapons including explosives—potentially full of Joker toxin—and a bazooka. His biggest advantage, though, is his brains and utter unpredictability. He has been known to outsmart and manipulate his opponents.

Star Sapphire wields the Star Sapphire ring, which is similar to that of the other Lantern Corps, though it’s powered by love. That is what fuels a Star Sapphire. Carol is able to manipulate energy to create constructs as well as force fields and blasts. That makes her equally as skilled in defense and offense. It also makes all those weapons Joker is packing largely irrelevant. He can hit her with projectiles or explosives just for Star Sapphire to deflect with an energy construct. If he does use Joker gas on her, I think she will still be able to defeat him even in a state of insanity, though I suspect she will handily contain him with the ring before he has a chance to try anything. Still, we don’t know what the Joker has up his sleeve and we may be surprised!

ODDS:
STAR SAPPHIRE: 95%
THE JOKER: 5%

Red Hood vs. Damian Wayne

Not going to lie, this one hurts! I hate seeing the Bat-Fam fight each other!

Red Hood, once a Robin to Batman, is an incredibly skilled fighter and is known for his aggressive and brutal fighting style. He is also the only member of the Bat-Fam to use guns in combat. Unlike the other Robins and former Robins, Jason Todd doesn’t hold back and is willing to fight dirty. Being resurrected in a Lazarus Pit will do that to you. He was trained by Batman and has faced off against multiple members of Batman’s rogues’ gallery. He dips into questionably villainous territory often.

Damian Wayne, our current Robin, is a prodigy raised by the League of Assassins and also has the skills and brains of his father, Batman. Though Jason is older and has more life experience, Damian has been training in combat since he could walk. When it comes to technical skills as a fighter and the ability to outsmart opponents, Damian has the upper hand. Though Red Hood is physically bigger and more aggressive, it once again comes down to how these opponents use their skills. Damian could out technique and outsmart Red Hood, but Red Hood is brutal and will fight dirtier than Damian, especially with his pistols.

ODDS:
DAMIAN WAYNE: 55%
RED HOOD: 45%

Zatanna vs. Big Barda

Zatanna is an incredibly powerful character and comes from a line of magic-wielding metahumans. She can manipulate time and space, and she can teleport, which might be useless in this arena. However, her skills allow her to be both an offensive and defensive fighter. She can summon and manipulate the elements and objects, use telekinesis, and essentially warp reality. She is limited only by her imagination and could take down any opponent in one spell—if it’s the right spell. I think a lot depends on the limitations of the arena and how it will impact her abilities.

Big Barda is an absolute powerhouse. Born on the planet Apokolips and once a warrior of Darkseid himself, Barda is immortal, outrageously strong and comparable to Wonder Woman and Superman when it comes to physical capabilities. She’s a god. Physical strength aside, she is also a skilled warrior that has trained her entire life under Darkseid and Granny Goodness.

I think, when it comes down to it, Zatanna has the advantage. Can she use her powerful magic to tactically take down Barda, or will Barda physically overpower Zatanna? Only time will tell.

ODDS:
BARDA: 35%
ZATANNA: 65%

Harley Quinn vs. Metamorpho

I don't even want to talk about this! I love Harley Quinn so much and I want her to win, but let's break down the odds, because they may or may not be in her favor.

Harley Quinn is a human with above average combat skills. She’s also an incredibly talented gymnast, which allows her to move quickly and overcome physical obstacles better than most others. I’d also argue Harley Quinn is a lucky character—she holds her own and defies odds quite often. She does perform quite well in a team, which probably won’t come into play here. (Though we don’t technically know that.) She’s also not afraid to get her hands dirty, which is an advantage in this situation. No mercy! *she says while cheering for Harley from the bleachers*

Now, Metamorpho is a powerful metahuman, as seen in the new Superman movie, who can turn himself into different elements and transform his body. Maybe he can turn into a radioactive substance that would fry Harley instantly, like Polonium—I’m no scientist don’t quote me on that! He could attack her with sulfuric acid and from a defensive point of view, could become impenetrable by turning into rock or metal.

There are a million different ways Metamorpho could win this fight. Really, it’s not looking good for our girl Harley.

ODDS:
METAMORPHO: 90%
HARLEY QUINN: 10%
