This Saturday, May 5th is Free Comic Book Day, a yearly celebration devoted to spreading the good word about all things comics! If you’re new to Free Comic Book Day (or FCBD, as it’s called for short), you’re in for a treat. All day long, comic shops the world over will be handing out free comic books from a wide variety of publishers… including DC!

This year, get your cape on with FCBD 2018 DC SUPER HERO GIRLS #1, featuring a chapter from the original graphic novel DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: DATE WITH DISASTER! Written and drawn by the dynamic duo of Shea Fontana and Yancey Labat, this kid-friendly comic finds star students Batgirl and Lois Lane investigating a fishy incident at S.T.A.R. Labs.

While you're at your local comic shop, and assuming there are any copies left on the shelves, be sure to pick up DC NATION #0 for preludes to some of the biggest DC events of 2018 in BATMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE: NO JUSTICE and MAN OF STEEL.

Best of all, the free comics are only the beginning! Many comic shops celebrate FCBD by hosting signings by some of your favorite comic creators.
