There’s a new Batman in town…and that spells bad news for Barbara Gordon! Sure, we’ve known since FCBD that Jim Gordon’s the man behind the mask massive robotic exo(bat)skeleton patrolling the streets of Gotham and arresting caped vigilantes, and now that BATGIRL #41 is on shelves, we learn that so does Babs.

Barbara’s already got enough upheaval in her life, with her roommate Frankie in on her biggest secret. When her dad pays a visit and confesses that he has a secret, is this Barbara’s chance to come clean to him, too? But before she can let him know, Jim Gordon lets her know why she needs to know: He can’t bear her discovering that he’s leading a double life if something happens to him.

It’s a heart-wrenching moment. Barbara has been lying to her father about her double-life all along, and telling him now would compromise Jim’s ability to do his job. And break his heart.
