The long history of the Red Hood Gang

These guys go way back.  Like 1951.  Smack dab in the middle of the Golden Age.  They’ve been burglarizing Gotham ever since.  What’s interesting is that in some telling of their tales, one of their members falls into a vat of chemicals and emerges as… wait for it… The Joker!  Interesting.  In fact, in the classic The Killing Joke, there was only one Red Hood, and he is the one who becomes the Joker.  In the hands of Scott Snyder and his Batman run, the Red Hood rises as a gang once more.  Another interesting aspect to the Red Hood is that, much as Batman will discover, the symbol of the mask is as important as the hood itself.

Often it doesn’t matter who’s wearing the hood.  But sometimes, it really, really does.  As when former Robin, Jason Todd, dons it to lead his group of outlaws on a crimefighting crusade that operates beyond the law in ways that Batman himself would never do, often pitting the master and apprentice against one another.  Whatever happens with the Red Hood, one thing’s for certain, we haven’t seen the last of it.

The Doctor will see you now.

But if you’ve just pulled a Fish Mooney, you might have a hard time seeing him.  Introducing Dr. Francis Duhlmacher, AKA The Dollmaker!  This villainous surgeon (known as Barton Mathis in the comic books) has a compulsion for body parts and “life-like” human marionettes.  As a child, young Mathis watches his cannibalistic father gunned down by a young Jim Gordon.  We have to wonder whether this Duhlmacher has any children?

One other thing you need to know about the Dollmaker is that he’s got a very twisted relationship with Joker—the kind that’ll just rip your face off. As such, we can’t wait to see what mayhem he brings to GOTHAM.

Think we missed any secrets or that maybe we're holding out on you?  Let us hear about it in the comments section!
