The world weary face, the slightly unkempt appearance…and the familiar city skyline that bears the show’s name. It’s all there in this first official character image from Gotham, Fox’s upcoming new series exploring the origin story of eventual Police Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie – Southland) and the rogues’ gallery of villains that made the city famous.

If you’re unfamiliar with this eagerly anticipated new TV show, that’s Donal Logue (Sons of Anarchy, Vikings) as Detective Harvey Bullock, Gordon’s rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor. As fans know very well, Bullock plays loose with police procedure, but gets results — and he does so with old-school, hard-ass panache.

Look for the next official first look Gotham image to be released tomorrow, Friday, March 21, on the Gotham social media pages, so be sure to like the show on Facebook, follow it on Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr, and join the conversation by using the #gotham hashtag.

The Gotham pilot is executive-produced by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome) and Danny Cannon (CSI series, Nikita, The Tomorrow People). Cannon is directing the pilot episode from a script by Heller.

Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment, Gotham is from Warner Bros. Television. The project has a series commitment at FOX.
