Have you been reading Vertigo’s ART OPS? This week’s issue is the thrilling conclusion to the “How to Start a Riot!” arc, and things get surreal.

The Art Operatives race to save Mona Lisa from being auctioned off (she’s been stolen from her painting), but are horrified to find all the humans have been turned into works of art by a cubist criminal called Scarlett. That’s certainly one way of getting revenge!

Meanwhile, Reggie Riot has lost control and his art has taken over, allowing the criminals to use him against the operatives! It’s only when he begins to attack Izzy that he realizes it is up to him to dominate its influence. Reggie harnesses his power, and the team is able to put everything back to normal. Mona Lisa is finally returned to her portrait, with a bit of a modern twist.

Then this just happened: Reggie starts embracing life with the Art Ops and his dad shows up! Danny Doll returns and is looking for some father-son time, and he certainly has some strong opinions on Reggie’s mother!

ART OPS #5 is written by Shaun Simon with art by Michael Allred, Matt Brundage, Laura Allred and Todd Klein.
