You may have heard that renowned chef, best-selling author and host of the Travel Channel’s “No Reservations,” Anthony Bourdain is working on an original graphic novel for Vertigo. Well, we’re excited to confirm that and to give you, our hungry fans, the details you’re craving. Written by Anthony Bourdain (Medium Raw, Kitchen Confidential) and novelist Joel Rose (Kill Kill Faster Faster, La Pacifica) GET JIRO! will be illustrated by artist Langdon Foss (Heavy Metal) who’s best known for his detailed and hypnotic line-work. GET JIRO! is a futuristic action thriller that takes America’s newfound obsession with exotic cuisine to a manic, violent extreme. It takes place in a world where food and the secrets of how to prepare it are the source of all power leading master chefs to fight over Jiro, a mysterious top-notch sushi chef with ideas of his own. Now, the title is not Get Gyro! as some outlets have reported. But who knows, maybe there’s a Japanese/Greek mash up in the future? Mmm...all this talk about food is making my stomach growl.
