It was an exciting panel as some favorite Hanna-Barbera characters made their appearance at Emerald City Comicon! The contemporary updates to some of the Hanna-Barbera classics was announced late January, and these true fans got a chance to see and hear all about it!

Moderated by DC Co-publisher Dan DiDio, writers Jeff Parker and Mark Russell joined the panel to discuss the upcoming series! The panelists were thrilled to show various covers and snippets from each of the future titles: Future Quest, Scooby Apocalypse, The Flintstones and Wacky Raceland!

First to be released on May 18, Future Quest features stories about the teenage adventurer Jonny Quest from Jeff Parker and DC Exclusive artist Evan “Doc” Shaner.  Fans got a chance to see the action packed cover from “Doc”, variants by Steve Rude, Bill Sienkiewicz, and Aaron Lopresti, a glance at “Team Quest”, as well as learn all the fun ins and out of the story lines  from Jeff himself!

Scooby Apocalypse, set to be released on May 25, is all monsters and mayhem as the room got a glimpse of the cover from Jim Lee, along with some really cool variant covers from Howard Porter, Neal Adams, Dan Panosian, Joelle Jones and Ben Caldwell, and a peek of some interior pages of Scooby and the gang from co-writers Keith Giffen and JM Dematteis and artist Howard Porter.

The crowd also got to take a look at The Flintstones, coming July 6th, including covers and a look at our favorite families the Flinstones and the Rubbles, as well as Wacky Raceland, including covers and some amazing looks at Penelope Pitstop in the Compact Pusscat!

Mark Russel said that the satire in The Flintstones is part 'where did the world go wrong' and part 'bird enslavement.' Pebbles ad Bamm-Bamm will be 'tweens and Barney and Fred's involvement in the Order of the Water Buffalo will be explained.

Jeff Parker said that Johnny and Team Quest are going to have fantastic adventures. He knows it's a daunting task to tie all the characters together into one shared universe, but he's up to it. And since "Doc" wants to draw dinosaurs, Dino-Boy will make an appearance.

If you weren’t in attendance to the panel, you can see for yourself what the buzz is all about in the gallery above!
