The #DCTV Secrets of DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Ep. 9...

By Amy Ratcliffe Thursday, March 31st, 2016

Rip Hunter has assembled a team to stop Vandal Savage, but Savage's location isn't the only secret in the series. We're here to tease you with the #DCTV Secrets hiding in each episode. If you want to know some of the answers to these questions, jump to the spoiler section for answers... no time travel required.

You don't have to wait two years to uncover these mysteries.

Chronos causes the Waverider to go way off course, leaving Ray, Kendra, and Sara stuck in the 1950s. It isn't just a quick trip to the grocery store kind of stuck either; the trio has to wait two years for the time machine to return. Ray and Kendra settle down, and Sara does too, but her approach involves going to Nanda Parbat. Meanwhile, the Legends learn a few things while they're dealing with assassins. Here are some of the #DCTV Secrets from this week's episode:

  • Where is Hub City?
  • Another al Ghul?
  • A shadowy connection

The Trees Are Actually Quite Lovely

Ray, Kendra and Sara leave Harmony Falls and settle into Hub City, which is a pretty nice town on the show. In the comics, however, Hub City most frequently appeared in THE QUESTION and may not be the place you’d want to hang your hat at night. Yes, it's the home of Victor Sage, the Question, but it’s also considered to be one of the most corrupt cities in the United States.

The Daughter of the Demon

We've met Nyssa al Ghul, but this is our first time encountering another of Ra's' daughters: Talia al Ghul! Talia is the more widely known of Ra’s al Ghul’s daughters and first made her debut in DETECTIVE COMICS #411. As the heir to it all, she learned about all her father's organizations—including the more criminal aspects.

Talia is sometimes an ally of our heroes, but is most frequently an adversary and has had a longstanding connection with Batman, which eventually led to the birth of their son Damian. Talia played a key role in Grant Morrison’s Batman comics, including BATMAN, INCORPORATED and can be seen in the final Christopher Nolan Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. Currently, you can find Talia seeing to her son (in one form or another) in ROBIN: SON OF BATMAN.

More Dangerous Than Any Guestbook

Rip has access to the Shadow Record; the list has the names of every member of the League of Assassins. The group has also been known as the League of Shadows and even Society of Shadows through the decades.

It's a Who's Who

As Gideon scrolls down the list of names in the Shadow Record, comic book fans may recognize a few. There's Onyx Adams, a longstanding member of the League of Assassins who first appeared in DETECTIVE COMICS #546. Tigris belonged to the League when it was under the leadership of Nyssa. Fadir Nasser was a loyal servant of Ra's. He showed up first in AZRAEL: DEATH'S DARK KNIGHT #3.
