SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read GREEN LANTERN #24 yet and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoilers ahead!).

When we showed you your first sneak peek at part one of “Lights Out” – this month’s epic crossover event that will change the Green Lantern universe forever – you saw artist Billy Tan’s opening pages depicting Oa and the Central Power Battery intact and fully charged. It was beautiful, clean, and idyllic. It held the backup power for every Green Lantern in the universe. And with all that power at their disposal, the Green Lanterns thought that they didn’t have to worry – much – that their rings had been malfunctioning lately.

Well, fans that have already picked up this week’s GREEN LANTERN #24 know that by the end of the issue, Oa is in ruins and the Central Power Battery is, well, kaput. No backup. No jumpstart. It’s dead. Destroyed.

But how did this happen? How does one old guy like Relic take down an iconic, unstoppable force just like that?

"You'll start to see incrementally what he's trying to achieve. Relic is going to affect each of the Lanterns differently in the sense of how they're going to interpret it, whether they think his theory is valid or not and almost to the extent of which side they're going to come down on in the argument,” writer Robert Venditti explained to USA TODAY earlier this week. “Whether or not some people will side with Relic or go against the corps, stuff will still be revealed, but we stay true to how each of the characters would react in this extremely unexpected scenario we see them in."

Below, take a look at the final page of GREEN LANTERN #24, and sound off in the comments section about what fate you think is in store for Oa!
