If feels like it’s been a while since the last official chapter of “Trinity War,” and after Geoff Johns revealed a startling major plot twist (which you can read about here, if you missed the news), we’re itching to get back into it. Fortunately, the next chapter arrives on Wednesday with JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #7, and judging by the New York Post’s preview of the issue, which teases a potential alliance between Pandora and Lex Luthor, it’s going to be a doozy.

You know what could also be filed under “doozy”? Greg Capullo’s awesome, minimalist covers for “Zero Year.” Beauty is often found in the details, and by focusing on the details of Batman’s beginning, Capullo has sure produced some beauties. This week’s new issue is no exception…

Of course, Bruce Wayne isn’t the only Bat at bat this week. Barbara Gordon is facing a beauty of a pickle in Wednesday BATGIRL #23. Let’s recap… In the previous storyline, Barbara’s psychotic brother James, Jr. was seemingly killed…by Barbara’s mother. However, Barbara’s father, GPD Commissioner Gordon believes James, Jr. was killed by Batgirl and has vowed to bring her down, completely unaware that Batgirl is his daughter.

Look, we know that relationships with family are often complex and sometimes difficult, but we’re just going to go out on a limb and say that this takes the family dysfunction trophy. We also feel pretty safe in saying that Batgirl #23, which kicks off a new storyline, is a can’t-miss. Of course, with new issues of Green Lantern Corps, Constantine, Django Unchained, Astro City, Suicide Squad and the very last issues of Demon Knights and Threshold all hitting the stands, you can say that about a lot of things this week.
