Figures that Rotworld would hit right before Valentine’s Day. It’s the one day of the year where your honey is pretty much guaranteed to be in the mood for some snuggling, and yet there’s a fairly good chance (if the pages of Animal Man and Swamp Thing are to be believed) that he or she may develop a case of the worst acne in history while beginning to overemphasize any s-sounds. Sssssound familiar?

Okay, we’re pretty sure that’s not going to happen, but I guess we won’t know for certain until we’ve read this week’s ANIMAL MAN #17 and SWAMP THING #17 and learn whether or not the Rot’s succeeded in snuffing out the last vestiges of humanity. And if you’ve read last month’s issues, you know things aren’t looking so good.

But you know what IS looking good? Green Arrow. That’s because issue #17 is the first to feature our new creative team of Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino, and if you’re a fan of gritty, street-level superheroics, then you should definitely consider giving the Emerald Archer a look this Wednesday. Or right now. After all, we have a great preview of GREEN ARROW #17 up today (and it even includes a cool interview with Lemire), we also have first looks at the aforementioned Animal Man and Swamp Thing, and other great books including EARTH 2 #9, DIAL H #9, DETECTIVE COMICS #17 and STORMWATCH #17.
