Alberto Ponticelli
Alberto Ponticelli began his professional career self-publishing comics with a team of friends called Shok Studio. The work would later be translated and published in the United States by Dark Horse Comics. He then worked for several magazines including Heavy Metal and Frank Frazetta Fantasy Illustrated. He would go on to pencil Sam and Twitch written by Brian Michael Bendis for Image Comics and Marvel Knights and the Blade 2 movie adaptation for Marvel Comics. In 2006, he illustrated "la rage au poing" graphic novel for the French publisher KSTR, a story about mixed martial arts in the Brazilian favelas, for which he won the Boscarato award for best artist. Blatta, the first graphic novel he's both wrote and illustrated, won the 2009 Micheluzzi award for best artist. He is currently the artist of the Eisner-nominated ongoing UNKNOWN SOLDIER from Vertigo written by Joshua Dysart.
