It’s Pride Month here at DCComics.com and while we’ll be celebrating all throughout June, next week is an especially big one with the release of DC Pride, an 80-page anthology comic highlighting a few of the amazing LGBTQIA+ characters within the DC Universe and some of the remarkable queer talent currently working for us. Characters like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Midnighter, Renee Montoya, Aqualad, Extraño and Dreamer are explored by writers and artists including James Tynion IV, Steve Orlando, Mariko Tamaki, Nicole Maines, Amy Reeder, Klaus Janson, Sam Johns, Sina Grace and Vita Ayala for a breathtaking collection that stands as a powerful reminder that all stories matter—and all deserve to be told.

And it’s just plain fun! Case in point, Batman writer Tynion contributes a gentle, absolutely gorgeous Batwoman story brought to life by acclaimed The Magic Fish artist Trung Le Nguyen. While Tynion’s written Kate Kane before, “The Wrong Side of the Looking Glass” is a vastly different sort of story than we saw in his Detective Comics or Batwoman runs, illustrated by a gifted, stylish artist whose style perfectly suits the fairy tale structure of the comic.

In other words, this isn’t your typical Batwoman! Which is perfect, since there’s truly no other character like Kate Kane. That’s what DC Pride is meant to celebrate—that without these characters, the DC Universe wouldn’t be the same one you know, love and come back to each and every week.

As we head into the first weekend of Pride Month, we thought we’d offer you all a little treat—a sneak peek at the first four pages of Tynion and Nguyen’s story. Enjoy this small taste of what awaits you next week and have a happy Pride!

DC Pride #1 by James Tynion IV, Trung Le Nguyen and dozens of gifted and talented writers and artists is available in print and as a digital comic on Tuesday, June 8.
