That’s right, for those of you who haven’t heard, Brian Michael Bendis’s JINXWORLD line of comic books is once again available digitally. Never heard of it? Well, my friends, you have been missing out.

Jinxworld is a collection of comics and graphic novels all written by Bendis that run a gamut of genres and feature some of his most iconic artistic collaborators. Some of these comics were written at the start of his career. Others are much more recent. All of them offer a powerfully imaginative trip into vibrant worlds that shares some striking similarities with ours. But if you need further incentive to take the plunge…well, read on, readers! POWERS

How do regular, non-powered cops deal with crimes involving super powers? For the answer to that question, you’re going to want to read this long-running, Eisner-winning series from Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming (CAVE CARSON HAS A CYBERNETIC EYE) that takes a ground-up view of the world of capes and cowls. A team of college-age geniuses tackle that very problem in this provocative series drawn by Bendis’ longtime Ultimate Spider-Man collaborator, Mark Bagley. While our world may thrill to stories of super-powered heroes, is it actually prepared for them to become a reality? Brilliant asks itself the question of whether we can truly survive the emergence of superpowers, both on a personal level and on a societal one.

THE UNITED STATES OF MURDER INC.

Bendis isn’t just known for superheroes—he also has a reputation as a solid writer of crime fiction. The United States of Murder Inc. takes that popular genre in a bold new direction. What if the FBI never cracked down on organized crime and the five original New York families took control of much of the United States? An exciting, imaginative work of alternate history, The United States of Murder Inc. is drawn by Powers’ Oeming and is a must-read for anyone who’s a fan of mob stories.

TAKIO

Hey, it’s not all for grown-ups. Bendis and Oeming are also the creative forces behind this all-ages superhero adventure that won acclaim for its portrayal of an adoptive family and the lively relationship between the two sisters. Anyone who dreamt of becoming a superhero as a child—and let’s be real, is there anyone out there who didn’t?—will find much to love in this clever tale.
