A Kinder, Gentler Jim Harper

Colonel James Harper is nothing but harsh to J'onn, Kara, Alex, and anyone else who gets in his way. That was not the case in the comics, though. Jim Harper was introduced in STAR-SPANGLED COMICS #7. He was a police officer turned vigilante and became known as Guardian. A clone of Harper eventually served as Head of Security for Project Cadmus.

It's All in the DNA

Harper plans to take J'onn and Alex to Project Cadmus, a genetic engineering facility that uses alien DNA for military purposes. The program has a long history in the comics with its debut occurring in SUPERMAN'S PAL JIMMY OLSEN #133.

Project Cadmus was initially known as the DNA Project and run by the Newsboy Legion. Their primary objectives involved cloning experiments and genetic engineering. Project Cadmus even created a Superboy clone using the genetic material of Lex Luthor and Superman.

Only a Scientific Moving Company Will Do

The truck used to transport J'onn and Alex to Project Cadmus was part of the Serling Freight fleet. In the comics, Serling Roquette was the head of the genetics division at Project Cadmus. The brilliant scientist first appeared in SUPERBOY #56 and worked under Mickey Cannon. On Young Justice, Dr. Serling Roquette was responsible for creating the Fog.

Tipping Her Hat

Kara reveals her true identity to Lucy Lane in order to gain her trust. Even though she showed Lucy the Supergirl costume, she was already wearing a blue top and red pants.

See you next week when a certain Scarlet Speedster visits National City!
