One of the many great things about Batman: The Animated Series is the influence it’s had on an entire generation of comic book creators, some of whom would later go on to work on Batman themselves.
Ask a Batman fan of a certain age what their favorite Batman movie is and there’s a good chance their answer is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. However, move down the age spectrum a bit and ask a younger Batman fan about the film and you may find that they haven’t even heard of it. While it’s not unusual for iterations of a long-beloved character like Batman to resonate most strongly with the generation they first appeared, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm seems to be a particularly unique case.
DC Collectibles has returned from Toy Fair, where their new line of action figures based on Batman: The Animated Series was a smashing success! While the figures won't be in stores until November, the Collectibles crew provided us with an in-depth look at the figures and what you can expect from them. (In short, plenty of articulation and accessories!)

If you missed the news last week, Batman: The Animated Series is the inspiration for the newest line of action figures from DC Collectibles. We thought this was worth celebrating, so to give the action figures a proper launch, we’re devoting much of this week to Batman: The Animated Series here on DCComics.com with a five-day event called “Batman: An Animated Celebration.”
