You pick your poison in life, and this week, that poison can be found in comic shops, as the first issue of Poison Ivy’s eagerly awaited new comic book hits stores. POISON IVY: CYCLE OF LIFE AND DEATH is a six-issue miniseries by Amy Chu and Clay Mann that offers Dr. Pamela Isley her first moment in the spotlight since The New 52. Dropping in on Ivy after she’s started working for the Gotham Botanical Gardens, it paints a layered portrait of a former super-villain trying to walk a more righteous path against a story of intrigue, action and murder. It’s a drop-dead gorgeous comic, featuring clean, realistic art from Mann and his team of artistic collaborators.

But don’t take our word for it. YouTube’s Max Prime recorded a special review of Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death #1 specifically for the DC Fans channel. So what did he think of it? Let’s just say that he puts this Ivy in a league of her own.

For more from Max Prime, be sure to visit and subscribe to his YouTube channel. He’s a massive DC Comics fan, so you can expect plenty more from him and his occasional co-host Sylvana over the months ahead.
