By DCE Editorial Friday, March 16th, 2012

CON AWAY FROM CON CONTINUES! From the murder mystery of The New Deadwardians to the upcoming adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Vertigo Comics' "New Blood" panel featured looks at lots of what's coming up soon. And don't worry, there was lots of American Vampire as well.

Courtesy of editor Will Dennis the audience got a look cover and interior art from Fairest #2 as well as the news that with the 10th anniversary of Fables coming up there are lots of great ways that milestone will be marked.

The New Deadwardians is a fantastic and intriguing mix of vampires and zombies, with new twists on the usual stories. It's for people who dig vampires and zombies with a little touch of class.

Scott Snyder says American Vampire will be in the 1950s for a while. Issue #28 kicks off a new storyline and the audience got a look at the cover art. Characters have to decide what alliances they're willing to make to bring down the vampires of the 1950s.

American Vampire: Lord of Nightmares goes into the history of The Vassals as well as why there's a dominant breed of vampires.

Get Jiro features a chef trying to operate independent of the two warring worlds of food culture in the near future. The book definitely reflects Anthony Bourdain's personality and voice.

Will Dennis talked about the final issue of Scalped and how it may be the series he's having the hardest time saying goodbye too.

Scott Snyder talks Sweet Tooth in the absence of Jeff Lemire. Issue #34 begins to unlock the stories of a key villain and then the plague, something readers are sure to want to check out.

Fables: Werewolves of the Heartland, an original graphic novel, is coming out this November. No ifs, ands or buts.

A fan asked Scott Snyder about how Stephen King came to be involved with American Vampire and Snyder told the story of how a simple request for an endorsement turned into a friendship turned into King writing the origin of the book's hero…villain…Skinner Sweet.
