CON AWAY FROM CON DAY ONE: The first day of WonderCon is in the rear view mirror and we're looking back at a day filled with great panels and plenty of excitement from fans.

At the DC Entertainment booth fans were lined up all day to have their picture taken at the green screen photo booth. This time around they have the option of appearing as part of the Justice League, alongside the MAD Magazine's Alfred E. Newman (who has a remarkable lack of worry lines) or in the image of the Justice League being used for our We Can Be Heroes campaign.

Speaking of We Can Be Heroes we ran a photo scavenger hunt that gave one lucky winner a high-quality print of the campaign poster signed by Jim Lee and others. Check out the picture of the winner posing with the poster that we posted on Twitter. We'll be giving away another one today and tomorrow and fans also have the chance to win one by asking a particularly good question at DC Comics panels all weekend.

Back at the booth fans had the opportunity to interact with and get signings from some of DC Comics' top talent. Jim Lee, Bernard Chang, Scott Snyder, Kyle Higgins, Scott Lobdell and others chatted up attendees who stopped by looking for signatures, sketches and more.

The first DC Comics panel of the day - an All Access gathering - featured fans getting news about Batman: Earth One, Swamp Thing and more of what's coming up. Later in the day those attending the  Vertigo Comics' New Blood panel heard about what’s in store for American Vampire - both the main series and the upcoming Lord of Nightmares miniseries - as well as how the 10th anniversary of Fables will be marked with a reissue of the first trade-paperback volume with a new cover from artist Mark Buckingham.

Look for more panel recaps throughout today and tomorrow as WonderCon 2012 continues. And be sure to tune in to our Twitter and Facebook profiles for up-to-the-minute news, photos and more.
