He gave the world Chirper. He gave the world Headspace. And now, Larry Ferrell is about to give the world the $17 Billion that his two very popular social media platforms have made him.

Tragically, the 24-year-old Internet mogul revealed to the world this year that he’s dying of late stage pancreatic cancer. With no family and no heirs, the question of what would happen to Ferrell’s considerable fortune after he died was uncertain until Ferrell himself revealed his unusual plans for it. In a clever nod to Chirper’s character limit, 140 people worldwide will be randomly chosen to each receive a 1/140th share of Ferrell’s fortune, which may not sound like a lot until you remember that 1/140th of $17 Billion is a little over $120 Million. That can buy a lot of promoted chirps!

So how do you know if you’re one of the 140? Check your phone or tablet. If you notice a new “140” app that wasn’t there before, congrats. You’re now a multi-millionaire.

Already, we’ve started seeing chirps from a few of the lucky winners, as well as from the generous man himself, Mr. Larry Ferrell, which we’ve rounded up below. Seems like an eclectic bunch!

Okay, that last one’s a little weird. But we’re sure he’s just joking around.

So what if you don’t find the app on your phone? Well, sadly you’re not one of the lucky 140, but you can follow their exploits in UNFOLLOW, the new ongoing Vertigo comic by Rob Williams and Mike Dowling. It’s like lifestyles of the newly rich and famous. Surely nothing can go wrong, right?

UNFOLLOW #1 is now available in print and as a digital download. For more on the comic, be sure to read our recent interview with Williams. To learn more about the 140, click here.
