We’re getting things started with a BOOM! as the debut issue of Infinity Man and the Forever People hits stands. Issue #1 begins in the far recesses of outer space, in the floating city of New Genesis, but it doesn’t take long for the action to rocket to earth.

Sorry, that’s inaccurate. It doesn’t take long for the action to BOOM TUBE to earth.

INFINITY MAN AND THE FOREVER PEOPLE #1 comes to us from the creative team of Dan DiDio and Keith Giffen—two guys who live for unique, eclectic characters. And considering the Forever People were created by Jack Kirby, you know it has unique characters in spades. Plus, considering the role the New Gods have played in shaping the New 52, we’d be very surprised if Infinity Man and the Forever People doesn’t wind up having big ramifications for the DC Universe as a whole. Either way, it’s sure to be a fun ride!

Of course, the Forever People aren’t the only heroes facing cosmic challenges right now. When it comes to tough guys, there are none more formidable than the intergalactic bounty hunter known as Lobo, but his problems are about to increase by the Nth degree as he deals with some hard-hitting trouble from Hawkman. At least, we think it’s Hawkman and Lobo. When’re you’re also dealing with shape-changing aliens, it can be a little hard to tell. What do you think?

Plus, “Superman: Doomed” continues in a big way in SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #9 (though judging from that cover, maybe we should change the title to Doomday/Wonder Woman?), Eve Coffin returns in COFFIN HILL #8 and Lois Lane plays a key role in THE NEW 52: FUTURES END #6. Plus, new issues of Batman Eternal, Detective Comics, Batgirl, FBP, Constantine and more!
