People say that it’s not good to live in the past, but we respectfully disagree. At least when it comes to Batman. After last week’s spoilerrific flash-forward issue, this week marks the return of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s “Zero Year” in BATMAN #29. When last we left our young hero, he was literally drowning in trouble, and this week’s cover should make it pretty clear which of his adversaries is behind it. But how will he escape? For the answer to that riddle, you’ll need to pick up the issue, which serves as the conclusion to the second chapter of “Zero Year,” which we’ve been calling “Dark City.”

Of course, Batman’s not the only hero facing a difficult week. Last month, Superman and Wonder Woman traded atomic punches with the likes of Zod and Faora in a battle that essentially ended in a draw. But of course, anyone expecting that to be the end of it clearly doesn’t know who we’re talking about here. No, the world’s not safe as long as these two Phantom Zone escapees are running rampant, so in SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #6, prepare for Round 2!

Of course, as much as we love the trinity, it’s not all Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman this week. If you’re reading Astro City (and really, everyone should be reading Astro City), you know that Wednesday brings us Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson’s finale to their four-part Winged Victory storyline. Plus, we can look forward to new issues of Justice League of America, The Royals: Masters of War, Coffin Hill, FBP: Federal Bureau of Physics, Batgirl, Constantine and Kyle Higgins’ final issue of Nightwing!
