Usually finding yourself doomed twice in the same week would be a cause for serious concern rather than celebration. But then again, none of us are Superman. (No, not even that guy who keeps emailing us asking for an ongoing Beppo, the Super Monkey series and signing his emails Clark “Superman” Kent. Sorry to disappoint you, dude.)

“Superman: Doomed,” the ongoing Doomsday-driven storyline currently heating up the pages of Action Comics and Superman/Wonder Woman, continues with two extra-sized chapters out this week. You know, the sort of extra-sized chapters that only come out once a year—Annuals! Yes, we know. Annuals are often standalone stories, but if you’re reading “Doomed,” and you SHOULD be reading “Doomed,” you’re likely itching to discover where the story goes next after SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #10 ended with Lois Lane going full-on Brainiac and Superman (still infected with the Doomsday bug) taking on Cyborg Superman and his squadron of ships. The story continues this week first in the pages of SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL #1 and then in ACTION COMICS ANNUAL #3.

Admittedly, “Superman: Doomed” has been running for a while, and some of you may be looking for something that’s a little easier to get caught up on. In which case, look no further than the pages of Grayson. This week sees the release of the sophomore issue of the series that takes Dick Grayson out of Gotham and into the world of international espionage. Continuing where last month’s issue #1 left off, this week’s chapter gives us our first glimpse at the past held by Dick’s partner at SPYRAL, Helena Bertinelli. It comes to you care of writers Tim Seeley and Tom King, and artist Mikel Janin, who’s been absolutely killing it with the series covers.
