Since meeting Diana’s brother, Jason, in WONDER WOMAN #32, we haven’t always been sure about his motives. Was he destined to be a hero…or villain? That was at the very beginning of James Robinson’s remarkable run on the title, and as he reaches his end this week with WONDER WOMAN #50, we’ll finally have our answer.

We have to say, judging by our exclusive preview of the issue, it doesn’t look good. At the end of issue #49, the malevolent and seemingly unstoppable Dark Gods had possessed Jason, who had previously been fighting alongside his sister to stop them. But these gods have a way of changing people, rolling over even the strongest of heroes like they were ants. The Justice League weren’t able to land a single punch before they were “absorbed” by the massive King Best. What hope did Jason really have? Now, as Diana’s twin refuses to yield or listen to reason, Wonder Woman finds herself faced with a horrifying reality… Defeating the Dark Gods may mean putting her brother down permanently.

With Jason blessed with the powers of the gods, this battle will challenge Diana both emotionally AND physically. And even if she survives it, the Dark Gods await…

The extra-sized WONDER WOMAN #50 by James Robinson, Stephen Segovia, Jesus Merino, Emanuela Lupacchino, Andy Owens, Ray McCarthy, Romulo Fajardo Jr. and Chris Sotomayor is in stores this Wednesday.
