Here are this week’s #DCTV Secrets you can use to win tomorrow’s coffee room conversations.

  • Who is Jefferson Jackson?
  • Did he say "Tokamak?"
  • What's so Cosmic about a treadmill?

Say Hello to the New Firestorm

Welcome to the world of "The Flash" television series, Jefferson Jackson—a character that first appeared in comic book form back in Firestorm #1! Although in the comics Jefferson never became Firestorm, he was friends with original Firestorm Ronnie Raymond.

The Fury of Henry Hewitt

Ever the clever namer, Cisco compares Henry Hewitt to a Tokamak, which worked out well since Hewitt appears in the comics as a Firestorm villain with the same name, first debuting in Firestorm #15.

The Cosmic Treadmill

Sure we've seen the STAR Labs treadmill used by the Flash previously on the series, but in this episode Cisco named dropped the word "Cosmic" when referring to it. Comic book fans may recognize the reference as the official name to the superpowered treadmill used by many iterations of the Flash to enhance their speed and traverse time, space, and reality.

The Other King of the Seas

When Patty Spivot talks with Barry about the sighting of a man-shark, fans of the comics probably gave a chuckle thinking it was simply a passing reference to a certain ferocious DC Comics fiend. But then King Shark himself appeared and passing reference became full-on reveal.

A humanoid shark with an insatiable appetite, King Shark first appeared in Superboy #0. However, the television version of the character also appeared in comic book form before debuting on the show, featured in the Flash Season Zero digital tie-in comic.

See you next week!
