Welcome to What's New in The New 52 – where you, the fans, get a sneak peek at the stuff that crosses our desks. This little feature is a way to keep you all in the loop about what's new, different and exciting in The New 52 – whether it's a character design, cover, splash page or panel.

Back when we launched The New 52 in September of 2011, Jim Lee’s cover for JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 became an instant classic. Fast-forward two years, and the events of “Trinity War” have left the Justice League presumed to be dead in a world where superheroes no longer exist. Instead, the Crime Syndicate has taken over!

For the cover of JUSTICE LEAGUE #24, which ties in directly to FOREVER EVIL, artists Ivan Reis and Joe Prado took Lee’s iconic JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 art and flipped it to give it an evil makeover. Now featuring the Crime Syndicate in place of the Justice League, this piece of art acts as both a stunning homage and a unique standalone image showcasing the new world order of the DC Universe. But allow me to pass the mic to my friend and JUSTICE LEAGUE writer Geoff Johns to tell you a little bit more about what’s going on here.

“With the League out of the picture, the Crime Syndicate is taking center stage -- and their mission on Earth, their secrets and their sins all will be revealed in the months ahead with the beautiful work of Ivan Reis and Joe Prado,” Geoff told me while discussing this beautiful cover.

And there you have it, folks! Above, check out this stunning cover and don’t forget to pick up JUSTICE LEAGUE #24 when it flies into stores on October 16th.

Until tomorrow,
Bob
